Between forests and meadows, this historic residence of 1902 was built by Count Albert de Vergnette de Lamotte as a hunting lodge. In the 1970’s, farming activity made its appearance with the cultivation of beetroot and chicory – inherited from northern France – until the dawn of the new millennium. In 2012, Éric Feurtet, a passionate fan of horses and breeding, acquired the property and launched meticulous renovation work lasting six years. His goal was to restore life to this sleeping site and give it a new soul. Le Domaine de Rymska opened in 2018 as a guest house with a restaurant, and soon made its mark for its authentic charm and refinement. In 2020, it joined the prestigious “Relais & Châteaux” collection and became the only 5-star hotel in the Saône-et-Loire.
The name “Rymska” is not without significance. It is a reference to the first mare born on the Domaine in 2014. This talented filly, a real star, won several prestigious races in the USA, from 2016 to 2019, contributing to the renown of Éric Feurtet’s breeding activity. The old stable with its impressive high roof has been transformed into an elegant, warm setting. Other buildings have also been renovated with respect for their heritage and noble materials such as Burgundy stone. Showing concern for the environment, the owner built a new animal shelter in local wood. The soil has also been enriched by the creation of ponds, encouraging biodiversity and a harmonious landscape. A real ode to nature, Le Domaine de Rymska on 197.6 acres of land now proposes 15 rooms and suites, each one carefully decorated and proposing a unique atmosphere. In this haven of luxury and tranquility, guests recharge their batteries and enjoy an unforgettable experience in an idyllic setting.
